From anabolic steroids to SARMs to peptides and ancillary drugs, I've done it at some point in my life, and I can relate. It’s pretty basic in what it does – but we’re bodybuilders, and gaining mass and strength is our priority. Dianabol is simply a more powerful steroid than Anadrol on a milligram-to-milligram basis, but some users will still swear by Anadrol, giving them better strength gains. However, this dosage also raises the risk of water retention and estrogen-related issues, so estrogen control (e.g., Aromasin or Arimidex) is often necessary. A 15–20 mg daily dose is sufficient to test how your body responds—especially when paired with Testosterone Enanthate as a base compound. If it’s your first time running Dianabol, start on the low end of the dosing spectrum. Below is a breakdown of optimal dosing ranges for beginners, intermediate, and advanced users. Because of its potency and hepatotoxicity, Dianabol dosage should be carefully tailored to the user’s experience level, goals, and ability to manage side effects. Even with a modest calorie surplus, it supports a net anabolic environment ideal for lean tissue accrual. Milk thistle is part of the daisy family and has been used in medicine by ancient herbalists and physicians to treat those with liver disease. Anecdotally, we have found that such supplementation stabilizes rising ALT and AST levels. To combat hepatotoxicity, our patients regularly take liver support supplements, such as milk thistle (Silybum marianum). Thus, after discontinuing Dianabol, liver enzyme values are likely to drop back down to normal. These are essentially hormone-induced liver tumors, which can be benign or cancerous in nature. Some users will simply wait for their natural testosterone production to recover after using Dianabol. Psychological symptoms involving decreased well-being contribute to steroid addiction, with 30% of AAS users becoming dependent (20). Low testosterone levels can cause testicular atrophy due to reduced sperm production. However, we find it can take several months for a user’s testosterone levels to return to normal. Injectable Dianabol is an option for those who don’t want to experience liver issues when taking this steroid. Some people have reported a notable reduction in liver enzymes after 8 weeks when taking 2 x 1000 mg per day. However, liver failure remains a possibility with Dianabol and other hepatotoxic steroids. Every time you eat food, the liver has to digest it; thus, when taking hepatotoxic steroids and eating large quantities of food, the liver is becoming increasingly taxed. Thus, a common approach is for bodybuilders to run anti-estrogens during a Dianabol cycle to prevent gynecomastia from developing, rather than paying to correct it later on. In our experience, any anabolic steroid that causes a powerful positive reaction will also cause a negative one (typically in similar measure). We have found that bodybuilders on Dianabol can experience an increase in vascularity. This can allow bodybuilders to train for longer periods of time without fatiguing or overtraining from strenuous workouts. This is why bodybuilders eat copious amounts of protein in an attempt to shift this nitrogen balance into a positive state for as long as possible. For those considering it, understanding proper dosages, cycle length, and the need for post-cycle therapy is essential. Its estrogenic activity and liver toxicity make it risky when abused. Originally, it was prescribed for conditions like muscle wasting and hypogonadism. At the time, the Soviet Union was dominating international sports with testosterone injections. Furthermore, research shows Proviron to have a negative effect on cholesterol levels, elevating blood pressure. Thus, gynecomastia and water retention (bloating) are less likely to occur with the addition of Proviron. This is a vascular condition where blood-filled cysts appear throughout the liver. If a user continuously takes oral Dianabol for several months without cycling off, they’ll be at risk of developing peliosis hepatis. We have had patients develop cholestatic syndrome, which is when bile flow becomes impaired, resulting in a buildup and causing inflammatory damage to the liver. The body’s way of dealing with this is to suppress the person’s appetite (as a self-defense mechanism), reducing food consumption. Our patients sometimes comment that Dianabol reduces their appetite, which is due to the strain on the liver.
